Parenting Coordination
Are you tired of arguing with your coparent and getting nowhere? Do you want to learn how to work better together and resolve disputes rapidly? Then parenting coordination is the right choice for you.
A parenting coordinator is appointed by agreement of the parents and has the authority to work with the parents to resolve disputes relating to child custody and visitation issues. A parenting coordinator can make decisions and/or recommendations about the issues in dispute which brings resolution to the issues efficiently without court intervention. The parenting coordinator works with both parents to understand each parent’s perspective, their concerns and their desired outcome. With the agreement of the parties and has directed in the order appointing the parenting coordinator, the parenting coordinator can speak with other third parties such as therapists, school professionals, experts regarding educational placement and other special needs of the children involved. This expansive role allows the parenting coordinator to truly understand the issues involved and to make decisions and recommendations that are child-centered in order to do what is in their best interest.
Working with a parenting coordinator can help the parents develop a more positive coparenting relationship by lessening the conflict and resolving disputes in a neutral way to achieve the best outcome for the children involved.
